Compensation benchmarking software that shows its work

Compensation benchmarking software turns market wage data into salary bands you can defend. Wagelist is in early access: the band lookup and posted-range generator work in the demo today, and launch adds an org-wide band builder, geo tiers and exports.

Compensation benchmarking features, cell by cell

Each cell says when it arrives. "In the demo today" means you can use it right now. "At launch" means it ships with the named plan when Wagelist opens; nothing here is live-product marketing dressed up as fact.

01 In the demo today

Salary band lookups

Pick a role, market, seniority and company stage and get a P25 / P50 / P75 base-salary band in seconds. Deterministic math on public U.S. BLS wage data, so the same inputs always return the same band.

02 In the demo today

Posted-range generator

Every band comes with a suggested posted range (P25 to P75, rounded to the nearest $1,000) and a copy-ready snippet for job postings in pay-transparency states.

03 In the demo today

Methodology transparency

The data source, every multiplier and the rounding rule are published on the how-it-works page and shipped in the calculator source. You can defend any number Wagelist gives you.

04 At launch, Growth

Band builder for the whole org

Build pay bands for every role and level you employ, not one lookup at a time. Group roles into job families, set band widths, and keep one consistent structure across the company.

05 At launch, Growth

Geo tiers

Define market tiers (national, Tier-1 metro, Tier-2 metro, remote) once and apply them across all bands, so a role pays consistently wherever you hire.

06 At launch, Growth

Exports

Export bands and posted ranges to CSV and PDF for offer approvals, board packs and compliance files. Your comp data stays portable.

07 At launch, Scale

Multi-entity and comp reviews

Run separate band sets per entity, brand or country unit, and work through comp-review cycles in a shared workspace with priority benchmark coverage.

08 At launch, Enterprise

Enterprise controls

SSO, roles and permissions, an audit log of band changes, an uptime SLA, a DPA and security review, plus invoicing and dedicated onboarding for compliance-driven teams.

Switching from spreadsheets and survey PDFs

If you benchmark in a spreadsheet today

You already have the right instinct: rows, roles, numbers. The problem is the inputs, usually a mix of job-board ranges and memory. Wagelist keeps the ledger format but swaps the guesses for published BLS-derived percentiles and fixed multipliers, then adds the posted range your spreadsheet never produced. Once the rows agree with each other, what you have is a salary structure rather than a list of one-off numbers.

If you buy survey PDFs today

Compensation surveys typically run $5,000 to $30,000 a year and arrive as static files that age from the day they land; we itemized those quotes in what a salary survey actually costs. Wagelist is planned from $99 per month, self-serve, with the methodology in the open, built for teams under 200 that need a defensible number this week, not a procurement cycle. Teams facing posted-range rules should also read our pay transparency software page.

01 Survey subscription $5k to $30k / yr
02 Enterprise platforms $10k to $25k+ / yr
